Cocoheal is an occlusive wound dressing made of bio-cellulose incorporated with coconut derived monolaurin. It is a moisture dressing and helps to maintain balanced hydration at the wound site while absorbing exudates. Its unique nano-fibrous structure provides a soothing effect to the wound site and the monolaurin helps prevent infection and aids in the healing process. The elastic property of the dressing helps to conform to the wound site and contact the entire wound area. This all natural dressing helps to simplify wound care and aids in better cosmetic outcome as far as scaring is concerned

Indications:

  • arterial and venous ulcers
  • diabetic ulcers
  • pressure ulcers
  • superficial 2nd degree burns
  • postoperative surgical wounds
  • skin grafts
  • skin graft sites
  • abrasions, lacerations

 

Contraindications:

  • Highly exudating wounds
  • Adverse reaction to bio-cellulose or monolaurin
  • 3rd degree burns

Dressing change interval

  • Upto 3 days or as determined by physician, depending on wound condition
  • If the dressing becomes dry, re-hydrate with sterilized water or saline

 

Instructions for use:

  • Clean the wound using the conventional care protocol after debridement of wound site.
  • Take out wound dressing sheet from pouch.
  • Remove Cocoheal from protective polyfilm pouch
  • Cover the wound site with dressing sheet such that the dressing exceeds the wound bed by at least 10mm on all sides. The sheet can be trimmed accordingly using surgical scissors.
  • Use appropriate cotton or film secondary dressing, if required to secure the wound dressing in place.
  • Each dressing should be used for single application only.
  • Dressing may be changed every 3 days or as prescribed by a clinician, depending on exudate levels and wound condition.

If Cocoheal dressing becomes dried out, it can be rehydrated by gently spraying with sterile water or saline until it is re-hydrated.

While removing used dressing from wound site, remove any secondary dressing and apply saline to the wound dressing until cocoheal is fully hydrated. Then remove dressing.
