Coconut is lifeline for more than 12 million households in India. More than 2000 million hectares of land is under coconut cultivation in the country. About 98% of the coconut farm holdings are less than 2 hectares held by small and marginal farmers.
Most of the 12 million tonnes of coconut produced in the country are utilized for copra production. During the process, the matured coconut water to the tune of 6 million liters is mostly wasted with no value addition happening.
At Ardor Biomed, we see a tremendous opportunity to add value to the farmers by utilizing this wasted coconut water, which otherwise created health hazard in their locality.
